RGIT Hospitality students kicked-off their culinary showcase with a Street Food Stall held at RGIT Melbourne Campus yesterday, 26 October 2017. Yesterday's Street Food Stall and upcoming events are designed to provide students with hands-on training in a fun and friendly environment where staff and students have the opportunity to mingle and bond over good eats. Students are set to bring to the table finger food buffets, market days, OBAR6 and finger foods, a chocolate show bag day, “the hour of the desert” and many more events in the coming days and weeks.

RGIT Hobart Campus Commercial Cookery students showcased their talent at RGIT Hospitality Expo on Tuesday, 24 October 2017. The one of a kind event brought together industry partners, stakeholders and esteemed members of the hospitality industry to discuss with students and trainers hospitality industry trends, expectations, and provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their culinary creativity and expertise. 22 business group representatives were in attendance.

RGIT head office representative, Sujata, traveled to Sydney to visit students and staff at RGIT Sydney Campus, Bankstown, to provide work placement updates, discuss course delivery and graduation, and to receive student feedback over three days from Sunday, 15 October to Tuesday, 17 October 2017. The visit included discussions with 22 students, including three Early Childhood and Education Care (ECEC) students, ten Community Services students, three Hospitality students, as well as six Advanced Diploma of Business students, Trainers and administration staff.

RGIT Hospitality students, Trainers and staff attended Hospitality Industry Trade Show in Hobart on 5 October 2017. It was a great day and a great opportunity, with RGIT staff and students getting to network and getting to know the big players in the hospitality industry.

Immediate Recruitment of RGIT Hobart Students Trending
Testament to its hands-on learning approaches, RGIT is seeing the recruitment of students at its Hobart Campus immediately upon receiving their qualifications become a growing trend in Tasmania. With many also gaining employment prior to graduation, RGIT Hobart students are already in high demand in Tasmania's hospitality market.

It's A Cook-Off!
Winners of last week's modern style buffet competition in Hobart were annoucned today, with only 4 points making the difference. Winners Jing Yuan Chen and Chen Long Dong won a copy each of Paul County and Nick Osborne's 2015 Tasmania's Table: A Food Lover's Guide to Tasmania's Fine Food, Drink and Restaurants.

A Sweet End of Term
RGIT Hobart Campus students wound down Term 3 with a belly full of roast feed and Yorkshire pudding last week on Tuesday, 26 September. Students and faculty had the pleasure of having Trainer, Brian, showcase his amazing baking skills with some awesome looking cakes and pastries that made the end of term all the more sweet.

Commercial Cookery Students Serve Beautiful Buffet
Hospitality Department Commercial Cookery Students flexed their culinary muscles at Main Campus Basement on Wednesday, 20 September last week, when they put on a delicious spread of mouth-watering delights as part of their training. The menu included rabbit cassoulet with braised red cabbage, goat curry with saffron pilaf rice, spaghetti bolognaise, crunchy rice noodle salad, cucumber, cherry tomato, red onion and olive salad and to top it all off, baked cheesebake.
