Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

Course Description

The unit incorporates the knowledge requirements, under state and territory liquor licensing law, for employees engaged in the sale or service of alcohol.

Participants will learn:

  • How to serve or sell alcohol responsibly
  • How to assist customers to drink within appropriate limits
  • How to assess alcohol-affected customers and identify customers to whom sale or service must be refused
  • How to refuse to provide alcohol.

No prerequisites.

A range of assessment methods may be used to assess the practical skills and knowledge of participants required to sell or serve alcohol responsibly including: role plays, case studies, problem-solving activities, written or oral questioning to assess the knowledge of legislation and other competencies in this unit.

Coffee Art

Course Description

This is a practical, hands-on course. Participants are shown the necessary skills and conditions required to produce professional latte art. Our dedicated latte artist will teach you how to “free pour” creative coffee art designs.

The course refines the essential procedures for steaming milk to create the perfect texture for latte art and discusses the art of crema to highlight design. It covers equipment hygiene and correct equipment handling to ensure that the details of your design are preserved.

After completing Coffee Art, participants receive a Certificate of Participation.

Prerequisites

Barista Coffee Making Course. To attend this course, you need to be able to steam milk and be confident with your technique.

  • Method: This is a classroom-based course that combines lecture, group discussion and workplace simulation using RGIT’s commercially-fitted coffee room.

Assessment

Participants are required to practice producing latte art under the supervision of our trainer for the duration of the course to receive their Certificate of Completion.

Certification

In most instances, participants will be provided with a Certificate of Completion on the same day.
