Nepal Idol contestants were welcomed at a meet-and-greet session with staff and students at RGIT Hobart campus on Tuesday, 12 December 2017. Fans of the contestants were delighted to take snaps and selfies with the stars following their live performance in Hobart on Saturday of which RGIT Hobart was a proud sponsor.
PTE Course Melbourne launched PTE preperation courses on Monday, 4 December 2017 following much anticipation. Classes are now in full swing and students have expressed great interest in studying into the new year.

RGIT Commerical Cookery III students visited Mures Fishing, an iconic oyster farming and seafood processing plant in Tasmania, where ttudents had the opportunity to learn about Tasmanian seafood and oyster farming. The excursion last week saw students entertained learning about oyster cleaning and shucking followed by a chance to see the fish cleaning and processing in operation. Staff at Mures processing center showed students the processing techniques of lobsters and fish filleting to commercial standards.
RGIT representatives manned an RGIT stall promoting its courses and short courses, including its Barista short course and PTE Course Melbourne's training classes, at My Nepal Fest: Nepal Food Fiesta 2017 at Batman Royale Coburg on Sunday, 3 December 2017. The festival's drawcard performances of Nepal Idol’s top three finalists saw many in attendance. The festival featured food stalls, art stalls, music and more, and provided RGIT a great opportunity to speak with prospective students about courses it has to offer.
Hospitality tudents visited Melbourne Town Hall, the central municipal building of the City of Melbourne, on Wednesday 29, November 2017. Students enjoyed sitting in the Council Chambers, and learning about Melbourne heritage and Australian Culture. Students admired the beautiful architecture of the building which was completed in 1854, and learned the meaning of the Commonwealth Coat of Arms. The excursion was a great opportunity for students to fulfill the requirements of the unit 'Show Social and Cultural Sensitivity'.
RGIT Certificate III in Patisserie stage 2 students, and their Trainer, Graham, visited Federation Square, Queen Victoria Market and Melbourne's iconic laneways on an excursion last week. Students' first port of call was ‘Christmas at Fed Square’, Federation Square’s Christmas display including a 16-metre tall Christmas tree. Students also took the opportunity to explore Melbourne’s laneways in search of Melbourne’s best coffee.
Developments are under way to ensure RGIT's long-term viability as a quality education provider by bringing on board the support of an external Specialist Advisory Board.
RGIT Hospitality students treated staff and students to alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at an Operate a Bar session on Wednesday, 22 November 2017. Students put their training into practice when they served drinks with their Trainer, Ashwin, in accordance with Operate a Bar (SITHFAB202). Hands-on, practical sessions such as last week's Operate a Bar session allow students to gain the skills they need in order to serve alcohol responsibly.
RGIT International Marketing Officers, Monica and Nina, met with over 25 new agents to provide them with RGIT's latest developments as well as course offering at the Education Agents Forum held at Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne, on Monday, 27 November 2017. It was a fantastic opportunity for RGIT's marketing team to introduce to new agents the fantastic range of courses that RGIT has to offer.
