RGIT Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Certificate III students visited Melbourne’s iconic Victoria Market for an excursion last week on Tuesday, 24 October. The students are currently studying unit CHCECE004, which teaches students how to provide healthy food and drinks to children. Students and Trainer, Rabia, visited the market to gain hands-on experience in learning this very important unit of their course.

RGIT head office representative, Sujata, traveled to Sydney to visit students and staff at RGIT Sydney Campus, Bankstown, to provide work placement updates, discuss course delivery and graduation, and to receive student feedback over three days from Sunday, 15 October to Tuesday, 17 October 2017. The visit included discussions with 22 students, including three Early Childhood and Education Care (ECEC) students, ten Community Services students, three Hospitality students, as well as six Advanced Diploma of Business students, Trainers and administration staff.

"A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dates all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path". Although Mothers should be celebrated everyday, one special day is set aside every year to specially commemorate these super humans! Several students at RGIT leave thier home countries to experience an adventure abroad. Hence, they could not celebrate this Mothers Day with their Mums. However, with the advancements in technology barriers of place and time can be over come.

A special training session was conducted for the Childcare students in first aid. Students learnt how to take care of emergency situations!!!

With over 8 years’ experience, Nildhara Gadani has done it all from teaching young children groovy dance moves to training them in art. If being an artist, dancer and trainer wasn’t enough Nildhara also enjoys doing community service. We caught up with her to discuss what inspires her.

The ECEC department had their first meeting with coordinator Jessica Gilbert recently. This is the first time all the new and old staff members met this year.

The ECEC Department conducted two educational activities to help students understand how to deal with children. One activity dealt with teaching children about nature through activities or games and the other dealt with teaching children about the value and importance of different cultures.

RGIT believes that variety is the spice of life. Without our differences, life would be mundane and boring. Students from Melbourne, Hobart and Sydney celebrated Diversity in their own little ways. It was their way of celebrating togetherness and spreading love.
